LuLu’s Teriyaki Sauce

This is my mom’s secret recipe. Nothing I have tried has been as good as mom’s cookin’!

Servings 1.25 cups



  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger peeled and chopped
  • 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar white vinegar will work too
  • 1 clove of garlic chopped


  • Place all ingredients in a sauce pan
  • Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes


Pro Tip:  You can get ginger in a tube in the produce department.  It keeps forever in the fridge, unlike ginger root that goes bad very quickly.
LuLu used powdered garlic and ginger, so that works too.
