Easy Black Beans

Add extra flavor to a plain can of black beans.

  • 1 15 oz can black beans
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • ¼ cup onions chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cayenne
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • juice of a lime
  • ¼ tsp sea salt


  • Heat oil in a sauce pan on medium heat
  • Add onions and saute for 5 minutes
  • Add black beans
  • Stir in the rest of the ingredients, lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes
  • Garnish with your favorite cheese, chopped onion, and tomatoes


Try this with pinto beans.  Add some bacon and jalapenos for an extra kick!
