Brownie Bites
Brownie Bites
If you want regular brownies. use an 8 inch brownie pan and bake for 40 minutes. To make brownie bites, I used a Silpat tartlet pan on a cookie sheet. This makes it easy to pack them in a picnic basket.
Ingredients
- 4 oz unsweetened chocolate chopped
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1¼ cups granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 or 2 drops orange extract optional
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 eggs at room temprature
- ¾ cup all purpose flour
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 325°
- If using an 8-inch brownie pan, spray with non-stick
- Place place unsweetened chocolate and butter in a double boiler on low heat
- Stir until melted and smooth
- Remove from heat, let cool slightly, and stir in sugar, vanilla, orange, and salt
- One at a time, whisk in eggs and mix until the chocolate mixture looks velvety smooth
- Add flour and mix until blended
- Pour into brownie or tartlet pan
- Bake 15-20 minutes to make brownie bites or 40 minutes for regular brownies
- Let cool
Notes
Get creative! Sprinkle with powdered sugar, crushed candy canes, or nuts. Try adding chocolate chunks, nuts, or marshmallows to the full brownie pan version.
