Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl, making a well in the middle.
Mix the wet ingredients in a small bowl.
Pour the wet mixture into the dry and mix until the batter comes together
Pour into a well-oiled cake pan
Bake 20 to 25 minutes

You can change the flavoring of the cornbread any way you like.Try jalapeno and cheese...Add frozen corn kernels...Substitute pumpkin puree, apple sauce, or peach puree for the ¼ cup vegetable oil as a tasty twist to get picky eaters to give it a try.
